  • Private Lessons – one on one sessions in your home or at Good Choice Dog Training in Albany, NY

  • Family Paws Parent Educator – Alissa offers in home and virtual sessions to help you prepare your family with life with Baby or Toddler and dog. She is also available for talks and presentations on welcoming a new baby into your home when you have a family dog.
  • Puppy  or New Dog Preparation – Planning a new addition?  Reach out and find out how Alissa can help.
  • Therapy Dog Consultation – where are you on your Therapy Dog journey!  Are you looking to see if your dog has what it takes or are you ready for certification?  We can help!
  • Dog Bite Prevention Education – If you are you looking for someone to visit your school, library or club Alissa is available as a Licensed Be a Tree Presenter and Doggone Safe member. As a former teacher she loves working with children and their parents.

Private Lessons

  • $100 for an hour long session at Good Choice Dog Training (based on availability)
  • $75 Virtual Consult
  • Package of three hour long sessions for $275
  • Discount available for seniors, veterans and newly adopted rescue dogs!
  • Initial Phone Consult is free

Private lessons include personal instruction, and a session report provided to the owner as well as follow up e-mails.  Private lessons can be used to address anything from basic obedience to problem behaviors.  Some of the issues Alissa can help you with include (but are not limited to)

  • Aggression
  • Reactivity
  • Shyness
  • Anxiety
  • Resource Guarding
  • Basic Manners (including House training, polite greetings, leash walking, etc.)

Looking for help with Separation Anxiety? Alissa refers people to Malena Demartini and Mission Possible.  Mission Possible is an internationally recognized course that offers a lot of support at a very reasonable rate, as well as specialized trainers ready to help you.

Classes

Therapy Dog Prep

Are you considering becoming a Therapy Dog Team? Are you wondering if you or your dog would like the work?  Unsure what the requirements are or what organizations are active locally?  Reach out! Alissa has helped many teams become certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and is eager to help.

1Within the dog training community it is considered unethical to guarantee specific training outcomes. Both leading professional associations – the Association for Professional Dog Trainers and the Pet Professional Guild – forbid doing so. Dogs are living, breathing creatures who make independent decisions, and like most things in life, their behaviors cannot and should not be guaranteed.

But what Alissa, and Old Dogs New Tricks Dog Training can guarantee is that she will put all her knowledge and experience to work for you to help you reach your training goals. That she will network and reach out to other trainers if necessary, and that together you will work to see positive changes in your dog. She understands that time and resources are often limited, and will respect you and your dog first and foremost.
